ResponsibleGaming is built as a fully independent website focused on growing awareness everywhere with related issues, problems and disorders that come from gambling.
In addition, they help to provide a treatment regime and support to those with a gambling problem. ResponsibleGaming doesn’t take a side when it comes to gambling and keeps itself neutral and impartial.
History
Gamblers Anonymous hailing from Montreal, Canada, went to their local spiritual leader Monsignor Dionne, to build out a council focused on problem gambling. However, anonymity wasn’t enough, and it was necessary to go on a national level to make people aware of the growing problem in Canada. Shortly after, in 2022, the creation of ResponsibleGaming.co happened.
Its roots were a loose network of gamblers that were in recovery and a group of professionals from the health and medical field. These professionals included people such as Dr. Robert Valoix and Monsignor Joseph Dionne, who himself came from Montreal.
These days, the organization is funded by generous donors who support the mission, and their reach and network have grown more.
- Offer conferences and workshops
- Work with business leaders to develop problem gambling outreach and programs
- Review information and produce research activities meant to provide awareness and help with the prevention of problem gambling
- Develop and offer tools to help those in healthcare and related professions have the right training to offer up support where needed to diagnose and treat problem gambling
This organization will continue evolving its offering as the need to combat the gambling problem continues to be realized. However the issues seem to present themselves, ResponsibleGaming will help those who need it the most.
